The Cincinnati plant of Emery Oleochemicals, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) for the Mass Balance (MB) Supply Chain model.
The certification supports the company’s goal to use only responsibly sourced palm oil in its chemical production to meet the highest environmental, social and quality standards.
Reducing Impact on Environment Through Responsible Practices
Emery Oleochemicals, the company’s manufacturing facility located in Loxstedt, Germany, is also RSPO MB certified.
The company’s global Sustainability Vision is, “To grow and create value by acting sustainably to achieve planet habitability, people prosperity, and financial profitability”. Emery Oleochemicals LLC is committed to sustainability and has several programs in place to reduce its environmental impact and improve its social responsibility. In early 2023, key resources at Emery’s Cincinnati Plant were assigned to complete RSPO supply chain certification (SCC) for a mass balance (MB) supply chain model. This model will be used to keep track of purchases, production, and sales to ensure that everything supplied as mass balanced produced material originates from an approved source of palm.
Through the hard work and diligence of the company’s North American Supply Chain department, Emery Oleochemicals LLC successfully passed the audit with the support of over 130 Emery USA employees who completed related training. In May, Emery’s North American entity was awarded RSPO Mass Balance (MB) certification.

This certification enables the company to capture new business in RSPO certified palm oil based fatty acids and fatty acid esters. Emery Oleochemicals’ ongoing sustainability initiatives are helping to make a difference in the world and ensure a sustainable future.
