This year, the BrauBeviale showcased the newest trends and technologies around production, bottling and packaging of drinks and liquid food. As means of delivering information and communicating the brand, labels play an important role on beverage bottles and packages. With more than 90 years of experience of producing adhesives, Henkel enables an efficient concurrence between bottle, label, adhesive, environment and machine. Therefore, a modern adhesive must meet the needs and accomplish a Herculean task: It has to stick, it mustn’t pollute the labelling machines and it has to be sustainable.

Whether it is about the application within varying production climates, the storage of bottles in refrigerators or in the heat, or the removal of labels in the bottle washing system – the adhesive needs to function. Particularly in the summer, bottle labels are exposed to influences such as major temperature fluctuations and high air humidity. Labeling adhesives also need to offer the kind of stability that prevents labels detaching from a bottle in iced water or when exposed to condensation.

With Aquence XP 190 Henkel offers an efficient casein-free adhesives solution that meets all the requirements. The latest technology in casein-free adhesives for reusable bottles reduces the risk of polluting or compromising the bottle washing systems through insolvable components. The strong adhesive power substantially contributes to a significant reduction of adhesive consumption.

Henkel’s hotmelt adhesive Technomelt Supra 100 Cool is suitable for the bonding of packaging such as six packs and larger beverage boxes. Thanks to the bond strength of the hotmelt, such packages are able to reliably withstand high levels of wear and tear during transportation of even heavy bottles. And because of the cold flexibility of this adhesive once applied, the beverage boxes can also be stored in the refrigerator or a cool basement without becoming brittle.
