High-Tack Insulating Tape from 3M Holds the Hard to Hold

Published on 2009-04-30. Author : SpecialChem

AUSTIN, Texas -- A new electrical insulating tape from 3M offers a high-tack adhesive for quick and reliable holding in applications such as motor windings, uneven surfaces of wire windings and oily magnet wire. 3M Electrical Tape 44HT is a polyester composite insulating tape with a durable backing providing a tough, puncture-resistant protective layer.

Businesses with motor winding applications or hard-to-hold applications that require a higher tack adhesive for motor, transformer, switchgear and coil manufacturing should consider this tape with its strong/tacky rubber thermosetting adhesive. Specific applications include stick-wound coils/transformers and bobbin-wound coils for banding, anchoring, insulating and protecting start wires, leads, terminal strips, insulation paper, end turns and connections in motors and transformers.

3M has provided quality electrical tapes for more than 60 years, having invented vinyl electrical tape. 3M Tape 44HT delivers maximum performance through superior engineering.

The 3M Electrical Markets Division, based in Austin, Texas, designs, manufactures and markets products for electrical construction, industrial maintenance, utility and industrial power, and electrical and electronic components.
