Kolon joins hands with Georgia-Pacific

Kolon Chemical Co. Ltd., an affiliate of Kolon Group, formed a strategic alliance with Georgia-Pacific Resins Inc., a U.S. chemical products maker, as part of its global strategy.

According to a mutual agreement, the two companies will market and sell each other's products in their regional markets and share manufacturing technologies and research and development achievements.

The companies are planning to cooperate in their investment in China under a longer-term strategy to build a joint venture there.

Kolon Chemical produces hydrocarbon resins used for rubber, paint, hot melt adhesives and phenolic resins, polyurethane resins and PVC stabilizers. It reported 262 billion won ($220 million) in sales and 22.4 billion won in ordinary profit last year.
