Loctite®PowerGrab®Simplifies Facility Maintenance

Published on 2009-02-19. Author : SpecialChem

For interior and exterior facility maintenance or building projects, Henkel Corporation has introduced Loctite® PowerGrab®, a heavy-duty industrial construction adhesive that grabs instantly with nine times the initial holding power of traditional construction adhesives.

This revolutionary adhesive may be repositioned for 15 minutes after it is applied to a surface, and will hold firmly in place until it cures. As Loctite® PowerGrab® eliminates the need for bracing, nailing and other fastening devices, it saves time and money by allowing many tasks to be completed by a single worker. Featuring InstantGrab™ technology, PowerGrab® can instantly hold a maximum vertical load of 20 lbs. per square foot or 10 lbs. per square centimeter on a porous surface.

Water resistant and paintable, this industrial construction adhesive bonds easily to both porous and non-porous materials including concrete, brick, wood, stainless steel, ceramic, tile and most plastics. Loctite® PowerGrab® can also be used on paneling and woodwork. In industrial facilities and manufacturing plants, Loctite® PowerGrab® can be used for mounting signs, fabricating temporary or permanent structures, remodeling or repairing virtually any material used in the building, and for other construction applications. The adhesive permanently replaces rivets and mechanical fasteners in construction applications.

Loctite® PowerGrab® meets or exceeds all relevant construction specifications such as ASTM D3498, AFG-01 and ASTM C557, and conforms to HUD UM60a. This solvent-free, low-odor latex adhesive cleans easily with soap and water, and is available in 300-ml and 825-ml cartridges. Formulated for low emissions and VOC content, Loctite® PowerGrab® meets GREENGUARD Certification.
