Arkema showcases a wide range of innovations in structural adhesives at the 2022 Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. (USA).
“Arkema is continually looking for ways to improve formulations,” said Alexandre Vermogen, global marketing manager for Plastic Additives at Arkema.
“At CAMX 2022, innovations were showcased in many different forms, from unique advances in recycling to new additives for epoxy formulations to adhesives tailored to meet the specific needs of this industry,” added Vermogen.
Toughener for Structural Adhesives
Arkema highlights toughening improvement technologies for composites and structural adhesives with CLEARSTRENGTH® XT powder and SARTOMER® liquid resins. Arkema introduces CLEARSTRENGTH XT® 151 toughener, an innovative, high-performance product designed primarily to boost the performance of thermosetting resins, focusing on epoxy and high polar acrylics, while ensuring high processability. This easy-to-use powder provides:

Using Arkema’s unique and patented technology, CLEARSTRENGTH® XT powder is the exception to the rule when it comes to core/shell tougheners,” said Vermogen.
Arkema also offers the new Sartomer® Advanced tough liquid resins in these applications, with ready-to-use solutions, enabling formulators to reach a "high toughness/flexibility" trade-off for more durable materials.
Arkema showcases the innovative ELIUM® thermoplastic resin, which exhibits performance comparable to traditional composite resins while allowing the products and systems where it is incorporated to be recycled. ELIUM® resins are used in a wide range of composites applications including boat hulls, wind turbine blades, high pressure tanks and more.

Bostik offers PLIOGRIP® Adhesives
Bostik, the adhesives solutions business of Arkema, offers PLIOGRIP® adhesives, formerly under Ashland’s Performance Adhesives umbrella prior to the company’s acquisition. It is a strong addition to Bostik’s existing composites market bonding options and complementary to its line of sealants, hot melts, engineering adhesives and more.
