G6 Materials Corp. (G6) a high-tech company with expertise in advanced materials and developing innovative composites for a wide range of industrial uses, announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, Graphene Laboratories Ltd. (“GLI”), has received official notice of registration from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its G6-EPOXY® trademark (G6-EPOXY®).
Develop Products Under the Brand
The registration is a significant achievement for the company’s longstanding brand. It became official on October 18, 2022 and has U.S. Application Serial No. 97039059. G6 is committed to filing registration maintenance documents at certain required times in order for G6-EPOXY® to remain registered with the USPTO.
“
It is a rare achievement to earn a trademark and we are proud to have G6-EPOXY® officially registered by the USPTO. After many years in business and a lot of hard work, we are pleased that G6-EPOXY® is now trademarked and that we can continue developing products under this great brand for our customers,” said Dr. Daniel Stolyarov, president & co-CEO of G6.
Properties of G6-EPOXY® Resins
The Company’s G6-EPOXY® resins have a variety of uses that include bonding, sealing and coating. Particularly, they can be used when soldering is not practical or when soldering requires heating adhesive material. G6-EPOXY® resins have the following unique properties:
-
The ability to work in broad temperature ranges, including reliability up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit
-
Reliable adhesion to a variety of materials including plastics, metals, glass, and ceramics
-
A reduction in overall density, weight and cost
-
The ability to resist moisture, solvents and oxidants with exceptional durability
-
Do not require a heating oven during curing time and can be used in the bonding of sensitive components at room temperature
The company has identified a number of potential applications for the resins and adhesives that include but are not limited to:
-
Terminal attachment to solar cell panels
-
Inexpensive and efficient LED mounting
-
Radio-frequency identification tags
-
Conductive traces on 3D printed parts
-
High-frequency shields, waveguides and 3D antennas
Graphene-Enhanced Polymer Resins to Improve Electrical Properties
For over a decade, G6 has been working to develop graphene-enhanced polymer resins to improve the electrical and mechanical properties of epoxies. Using graphene nanoparticles increases the electrical conductivity of epoxy, enhances the strength of the material to which the epoxy is applied, prevents the formation of cracks, and improves the durability of its bond.
Additional benefits of using graphene may include increased tensile strength and stiffness, reduced flammability, and improved thermal and UV stability.
