Kraton’s New Copolymer for UV and Radiation Cure Pressure-sensitive HMA Kraton Corporation launches Kraton™ DX0222, a styrene block copolymer (SBC) for radiation-curable and pressure-sensitive hot-melt adhesives (HMA). Kraton™ DX0222 copolymer can be formulated like conventional hot-melt adhesives and fulfill the high-performance needs of adhesive formulators. The copolymer delivers excellent UV reactivity.

High Thermal Resistivity with SIS and SBS Compatibility

Kraton™ DX0222 has high thermal stability at normal process temperatures with reactivity towards radiation curing. The product is compatible with styrene isoprene styrene (SIS) and Styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) based adhesives. Kraton™ DX0222 adheres to non-polar substrates and is water-resistant.

Radiation-curing technology is a fast-growing area offering opportunities to achieve properties such as high temperature and solvent resistance that are not possible with traditional systems,” said Peter Migchels, global adhesives marketing director at Kraton.

Kraton’s SYLVALITE™ RE 80HP resin can be combined with Kraton™ DX0222 to deliver excellent adhesive performance with minimal impact on UV reactivity.
