Scott Bader to Showcase FST Standard Adhesive Products at JEC World 2019

scott-bader-fstAt JEC World 2019 Scott Bader will launch two new products, their new Crestafire® intumescent FST system, and Crestapol® 1270, a new premium urethane acrylate resin for SMC and BMC. They will also be introducing Crestamould, the new brand for their matched tooling systems.

Innovative Crestafire FST Range


Launched at JEC 2018 the Crestafire FST range has gone from strength to strength, and this year Scott Bader will be adding a highly innovative intumescent FST system. The Crestafire FST range includes resins, gelcoats and adhesives specifically designed to offer complete systems that meet European and Global FST standards.

The new Crestafire system has EN45545-2 and HL2 (R1) approval ensuring it meets the stringent fire requirements for the rail industry. Neil Gray, Global Market Manager of FST Performance Products will be presenting on the new system at the JEC World “Composites in Action” conference, on March 13th from 14.30 to 15.00 in the Forum.

Different Products on Scott Bader’s Stall


Scott Bader’s Crestapol resins are known to produce tough lightweight CFRP components. 2019 sees an addition to the established Crestapol family; Crestapol 1270 is a new premium urethane acrylate resin offering high performance for Sheet Molded Compounds (SMC) and Bulk Molded Compounds (BMC).

Other key products and services include:

  • Crestafix® Structural Adhesives and Bonding Pastes
  • Crystic® Ecogel Ultra Low Styrene Spray Gelcoats, including the zero styrene Ecogel S0 PA grade
  • Crestomer®
  • Crestabond®
  • Rapid GelTint service which can mix gelcoats in a wide range of RAL, BS, NCS and custom colors

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to see a Cobra Shelby supercar from South African company Backdraft Racing owned by former racing driver Tony Martin. The Cobras’ composite car bodies are completely built using Scott Bader resins, gelcoats and adhesives.

Scott Bader’s technical experts will of course be on hand to answer questions about all the products available and are looking forward to meeting visitors to this year’s JEC event.
