Brown Microcrystalline 170 by Frank B. Ross is a microcrystalline wax. It consists of a matrix of extremely small crystals. It is sometimes referred as amorphous wax and its structure consists of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons including normal paraffins, branched paraffins, mono-cyclic compounds, and polycyclic compounds. Brown Microcrystalline 170 is used in hot melt adhesives.
