Zinc pyrithione or bis (2-pyridylthio) zinc 1, 1’-dioxide. Acts as a low toxicity biocide liquid as well as anti-fouling agent. It shows good stability as bactericide and fungicide in the pH range from 4 to 10. It is friendly to environment and effectively inhibits the growth of pathogenic micro-organisms such as streptococcus, staphylococcus, fungi, yeast, mold as well as bacterial.
