DAXSOL® Dimethyl carbonate

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by UBE
DAXSOL® Dimethyl carbonate by UBE is a clear, colorless, environmentally friendly green solvent synthesized from carbon monoxide. It is VOC-free, non-mutagenic, non-HAPs with mild & non-offensive odor and low MIR values. It exhibits low toxicity, rapid biodegradability and low bioaccumulation. It displays fast-evaporating rate, miscibility with most of organic solvents, partial solubility in water, and similar melting & boiling points to water.
  • It can directly replace polar non-sustainable solvents, such as ketones, esters, glycols, toluene, xylene, methyl ethyl ketone and n-butyl acetate.
  • It is used as a raw material for several methylation, carboxylation and carbomethoxylation processes, including pharmaceutical synthesis.
  • DAXSOL® Dimethyl carbonate is designed to prepare adhesives.
  • It is also used as an electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries (LIB) in notebook PCs and cell phones, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
  • It is recommended by CHEM21.
