Capa® 6506

Capa® 6506 is a high molecular weight linear polyester derived from caprolactone monomer. It shows higher clarity in the melt phase (60°C) than standard Capa® thermoplastics. It has good green strength and an ability to react with isocyanates as it has some OHV. It is easy to process, shape and apply. This product is not self-igniting, is stable at normal conditions and is insoluble in water. Is compatible with a wide range of common thermoplastics, incompatible with acids & bases and soluble in several common solvents, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, halocarbons and some ketones. Capa® 6506 is chemically identical to Capa® 6500 but supplied in powder form. It is a low-melting crystalline product that is used in hot melt adhesives. Applications include adhesives for toe puff and shoe counter components in footwear, scatter coat interlining. Used as a binder for non-wovens and structural & laminating adhesives for the automotive industry. It can also be used in applications such as structural adhesives, textile bonding, bookbinding and biodegradable packaging.
