Cardolite has developed bio-based hydroxyl functional chemicals including polyols, diols, and diluents for electric vehicles (EV) battery packages. In this presentation, key properties required for EV application were studied to identify utility of polyols, diols, and diluents in 2K Polyurethane adhesives.
Diluents can lower viscosity and extend pot life while maintaining good adhesion. Selected Polyols and diols enabled the optimization of strengths and flexibility in polyurethane formulations, and most importantly, Cardolite polyols and diols demonstrated outstanding hydrolytic stability, thermal and chemical resistance along with satisfying dielectric properties and proper fire resistance.
