Enhancing Tile Adhesive Performance with Clay-Based Rheology Additive

Elementis
This is a Past Webinar
Clays are naturally occurring minerals and have been historically used in the construction and building areas for many centuries to affect and control mortar rheology. Clays such as smectites and hectorites, are thickeners that are known to improve rheological properties such as sag, pumpability, spreadability, and slump, by creating very good cohesive forces within the mortar formulation.

This study demonstrates the improvement of the thixotropic properties of mortars that can be obtained by use of select clay-based construction additive products for rheology control, combined with proper formulation adjustments to improve cost efficiency and enhance mortar open time.
