The Aqualon Division of Hercules Incorporated announced capacity expansion plans for its Natrosol HEC (Hydroxyethylcellulose) and Natrosol Plus product lines. The expansion, which will be staged at two of Aqualon's production facilities in the U.S., in Virginia and New Jersey, and its facility in The Netherlands, will begin in the 4th quarter 2003 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2004. The expansion and upgrades will increase annual capacity by 10,000 tons and have the added capability to produce new products now under development.

According to John Televantos, President of the Aqualon Division, "These expansions can be achieved efficiently at a fraction of the cost of a comparable green field investment. More important, this initiative will allow us to continue to support the growth of our paint, construction, personal care, and oil field customers."
