Thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) comprise of linear polymeric chains having a small proportion of hard segments and soft segments. TPU adhesives provide excellent initial and final bonding combined with outstanding adhesion to many substrates like leather, wood, metals, rigid and plasticized PVC, rubbers and many more. They can also be used to bond some polyolefins (EVA, PE, PP) if the substrate has been chemically or physically treated. TPU adhesives feature a wide range of activation temperatures and are widely used in bonding operations where heat activation is part of the process. TPU adhesives are mainly used in automotive/transportation, furniture and textiles amongst many others.
