It acts as a catalyst for anhydride-epoxy and carboxylic acid-epoxy resin systems. The speed and specificity of this grade makes it relatively easy to incorporate dimer, trimer, and other polybasic acids into epoxy resin systems. It is designed for specific catalysis of the acid-epoxy reaction, causing little homopolymerization or etherification through the oxirane moiety. It promotes exceptionally fast gel and cure at moderate temperatures. Recommended for structural adhesives and potting as well as encapsulation of electrical components.
