BYK® -428

Solution of a polyurethane with a highly branched structure. Acts as high-shear thickener. It provides optimum flow behavior. Byk® -428 works in association with the binder system and the incorporated low-shear thickener. Due to the highly branched structure, an interaction with the formulation components is achieved very quickly, which is responsible for the high shear effect. It can be used in a multitude of formulations for interior and exterior areas where good flow is required. It is liquid, VOC- and APEO- free. It increases in-can viscosity and improves sag resistance, anti-settling properties. It does not require pH-value adjustment for rheology effect and has no negative impact on pigment stabilization. Its recommended level based upon total formulation is 0.5 - 2.5%.
