Mergal® KM109 by Troy Corporation (Arxada) is an in-can preservative and a bactericide in dispersion adhesives and aqueous systems such as acrylate-sealants. It is free from chloromethyl, methylisothiazolinone, heavy metals and VOC. It is a blend of chloroacetamide and sodium benzoate. It offers broad action spectrum against bacteria, yeasts and mold fungus. It shows good compatibility with aqueous polymer emulsions such as pure acrylic, styrene acrylic, polyvinyl alcohol and vinyl acetate-ethylene pressure polymers. Mergal® KM109 has a usage level of 0.10-0.40%.
