Capa® Monomer

Capa® Monomer is a colorless, low viscosity caprolactone monomer. It has a lactone ring which is relatively easily opened by compounds containing active hydrogen atoms such as alcohols. Each ring opening step forms a terminal, primary hydroxyl group. Possesses low impurities and shows consistent crystallization. Exhibits outstanding flexibility even at low temperatures, excellent strength and abrasion resistance and a controlled & consistent open time. Provides strong adhesion on difficult & sensitive substrates including leather and shows a lasting outdoor performance for polyurethane materials. It is non-toxic and biodegradable. Shows a fast wetting process and benefits in durable joints even in humid environments. Recommended for use in waterborne, solvent-based and hot-melt polyurethane adhesives. Capa® Monomer is used in automotive and footwear industries.
