Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Kuraray
KURARAY POVAL™ 26-80 (Old name: Poval® PVA 417) by Kuraray is a polyvinyl alcohol. Used as a component of remoistenable adhesives, e.g. for postage stamps, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol grades ensure that the adhesive strength is not impaired even in fluctuating air humidity. Exhibits specific colloid-chemical and excellent film-forming properties, and a high tensile strength. In addition, the polymers are highly elastic and resistant to heat and organic solvents. Above all, the range of applications is based on the chemical properties, especially on the reactivity of the numerous hydroxyl groups with substances such as reactive resins, aldehydes and other reactive compounds.
