Kristalex™ 5140SD

Kristalex™ 5140SD by Synthomer is a high softening point, low molecular weight hydrocarbon resin with low organic volatile content and low odor. It is made up of pure aromatic monomers. It is designed primarily for use as a modifier resin in high-performance adhesives and heat seal compositions. It offers water-white color, heat stability, resistance to oxidation and discoloration. In EVA-based hot melt adhesives, it shows compatibility with EVA grades with 20%-40% vinyl acetate and useful in formulating low-color adhesives with improved high-temperature resistance. In styrenic block copolymer-based adhesives, it associates with the styrenic end blocks, producing higher cohesion at temperatures up to 70°C without affecting tack and adhesion properties. It is compatible with chlorinated paraffin, polystyrene, rosin and modified rosins, rosin ester, SBR and SBR block copolymers, PVC and ABS. It is used in sealants, building & construction hotmelts, specialty- and packaging tapes. Kristalex™ 5140SD has a recommended shelf life of 3 years. It is suitable for food contact applications.
